dc.description | Description: The site is located in Subtransects SE50–SE54 of the Intensive Transect Survey, just past the 3 km mark from the Aphrodisias and on a low promontory northwest of where a tributary meets the Morsynus. Visibility was low in some of the heavily overgrown fields. Surface finds included at least one fragment each of brick, pipe, and glass; a column shaft (D162); and a mortar. The sample of pottery collected included no imported sherds. Local sherds span the full urban occupation period The remains of several in situ walls were visible in 2007, including at least two discernible rooms; unfortunately, upon a re-visit in 2008 to carry out systematic finds collection, much of the site had been destroyed by recent plowing and the walls were no longer visible. | en_US |
dc.description | Finds: Occupation dated by finds to roughly 1st c through the 7th c AD (plus 1 Ottoman sherd). ** Systematic pottery collection conducted 11 June 2008 | en_US |
