Description: Several fragments all found together: one fragment of a large sarcophagus lid that is about the same scale as one large fragment of a frieze sarcophagus; and two small fragments of a second frieze sarcophagus. ** C. Two fragments, possibly from the same sarcophagus. ** (1.) Preserves a small section of sarcophagus bottom. Preserves one bare left foot of a figure, possibly male, with his weight on the missing right foot. Next to him are what appear to be the paws of a seated animal. The figures' proportions appear too small to belong to Sarcophagus B, but could be from the same sarcophagus as Fragment C2. ** (2.) Preserves a small part of a chest, broken away on both sides, top and bottom. Preserves two figures. The draped female figure on the left is preserved from waist to ankle, stands with her weight on her left leg, and wears a himation with drapery hanging down beside her left shoulder over a chiton that shows slightly at the bottom. The figure on the right, probably male, is preserved from the waist to the shins, wears a short chiton over bare legs, and leans away from the female figure with his weight strongly on his left leg. A small bit of drapery from a chlamys is visible to his right. Drill channels in drapery. ** Point added 21 June 2008
