dc.description | Description: A single course of large lumps of quartz is all that remains of the crepis wall of this tumulus. The crepis is preserved for just over half its circumference on the uphill side; the downhill side is completely lost. The mound to which the crepis belonged is also gone, partly eroded by wind and rain, partly dug away by tomb robbers who have revealed what appears to be a tomb chamber in the center of the mound, hollowed out of the native schist. As preserved, the chamber has the appearance of an open pit, and it is unclear whether its ceiling has collapsed or been punched through by the tomb robbers. Its orientation is also unclear—no doorway or dromos is visible, and the bottom of the chamber is filled with earth and debris. As preserved, the vertical distance from the highest point on the crepis to lowest point in the chamber is 3.5 m. | en_US |
