Description: Two joining fragments of a marble stele, recording a posthumous honorary decree for Artemidoros. The larger fragment preserves the upper edge (chipped), the right side, and the lower edge; the smaller fragment, without any edges, adjoins to left. (RS Inscriptions 25): The text is a fragmentary decree of 23 lines in honor of Artemidoros, son of Dionysios, son of Demetrios, member of a prominent family. The decree praises his virtue and offers consolation to his parents. Artemidoros is honored with the dedication of his painted portrait in a gilded shield (imago clipeata) and the erection of a marble stele in public space.
