Family register from the records of Zion Lutheran Church; Information likely refers to congregants of Salem Lutheran Church (Ann Arbor, Mich.), the first Evangelical Lutheran Congregation formed by Rev. Friedrich Schmid in Scio Township after his arrival in the United States in 1833. May also include information on families from other congregations. The register appears to have been regularly updated through the 1830s and includes information about family members from the late-eighteenth through the mid-nineteenth centuries. Records are in German and a single family's entry extends across facing pages, with documentation of the names and birthdates of husband and wife, their wedding date, and names of their respective parents. Entries also record the number and names of children as well as information on their birth dates, confirmation or first communion, weddings and deaths.en_US
