A very obvious indication of William Faulkner's stature as a premier
American author of the twentieth century is the number and variety of translations
of his works. A sample is presented here, selected to illustrate the range of languages
as well as to reveal the care of publishers in offering to readers texts in visually
informative and pleasing formats. In addition to these languages, Faulkner's writings
have also been translated into German, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Czech, Hungarian,
Serbian, Croatian, Korean, and Arabic.
