- Description:
- Archives at the Institute for Fisheries Research (IFR) hold records of thousands of lake surveys from the University of Michigan and Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The records contained in this dataset are jpeg images of the index card records from the IFR surveys. Images include the front of the card and when available, the back of a card., Length/Weight Regression cards show the length-weight regression for specific fish species. The fish species, number measures, and length range is captured for each species. For a given length, weight is calculated from the regression and compared to a reference weight such as a state average weight., and The coefficients for Michigan fishes can be found here: Schneider, James C., P. W. Laarman, and H. Gowing. 2000. Length-weight relationships. Chapter 17 in Schneider, James C. (ed.) 2000. Manual of fisheries survey methods II: with periodic updates.
