Languages of southwestern Burkina Faso excluding Mande
User Collection- Creator:
- Heath, Jeffrey
- Description:
- This collection contains supplements to reference grammars and texts that are archived at Deep Blue Documents and at Zenodo. The supplements include lexical spreadsheets (xlsx and/or csv) and audio files (some of the audio recordings are transcribed in the grammars or text collections). The initial materials are from Tiefo-N and Tiefo-D. Supplements from other languages (Viemo, Siamou) are in progress and may be added later. These languages are thought to constitute their own branches of Niger-Congo, and in the case of Siamou even that affiliation is contested. Supplements from Jalkunan (a Mande language of SW Burkina Faso) are in a separate collection.

- Description:
- This dataset contains experimental measurements of a zero-pressure-gradient flat-plate boundary layer at five different Reynolds numbers collected using particle image velocimetry. For each Reynolds number, the dataset contains approximately 6000 snapshots of planar velocity fields as well as raw particle image pairs. All data are stored within hdf5 files, and a Matlab script showing how the data can be read and manipulated is provided. Please see the ‘BLexp_README.pdf’ file for more information. We recommend using the ‘BLexp_example.zip’ file as an entry point to the dataset. and The dataset is part of “A database for reduced-complexity modeling of fluid flows” (see references below) and is intended to aid in the conception, training, demonstration, evaluation, and comparison of reduced-complexity models for fluid mechanics. The paper introduces the flow setup and computational methods, describes the available data, and provides an example of how these data can be used for reduced-complexity modeling. Users of these data should cite the papers listed below.

- The Measurement of Agriculture Illuminating farm-Zone Emissions of N2O (MAIZE) project collected airborne measurements of nitrous oxide (N2O) around intensive agricultural regions in Iowa and Nebraska during the early growing seasons of 2021 and 2022. Datasets in this collection include the airborne measurement data for each year, as well as optimized posterior fluxes for each Iowa flight day derived from the aircraft observations. The airborne platform (Mooney, ChampionX) included an Aerodyne Research, Inc. TILDAS Compact Single Laser N2O Analyzer in 2021 and a Los Gatos Research (LGR) N2O/CO analyzer (Model 916-0015) in 2022. GPS antennae, mounted on the Mooney aircraft, recorded latitude, longitude, altitude, aircraft heading, zonal speed, and meridional speed. Horizontal winds are calculated following Conley et al (2014). Temperature (C) and humidity (%) were collected with the Vaisala HMP60 probe. Aircraft speeds averaged around 70 meters per second. - Description:
- Data deposited here includes 60 image sets (30 individual participants, and 2 eyes per individual) consisting of raw fluorescence images, diffuse reflection images using ambient lighting, images used for correction, and calibration, and metadata. Images are split into two wavelength bands as described in the methodology. Raw images are stored in Hierarchical Data Format 5 (HDF5) file nodes (one file per eye) and each image node contains a tag for frame rate, exposure duration, and timestamp (stored in ImageData.zip). Summary statistics including demographic data, participant-reported diseases (e.g., diabetes, keratoconus), and pupil size are also stored in a text-based comma-separated table and as an Excel spreadsheet. Finally, 2-channel pseudocolor images and ratiometric grayscale images combining the two fully-processed image bands are stored as portable network graphics (PNG) files (stored in PseudocolorImages.zip).

- Description:
- Our recent investigations have discovered inward diffusion (in-gassing) of moderately volatile elements (MVEs; e.g., Na, K and Cu) from volcanic gas into volcanic beads/droplets. In this work, we examine the distribution of sulfur in lunar orange glass beads. Our analyses reveal that sulfur exhibits a non-uniform distribution across the beads, forming "U" or "W" shaped profiles typical of in-gassing. A model developed to assess sulfur contributions from different sources (original magmatic sulfur versus atmospheric in-gassed sulfur) in the orange beads indicates that atmospheric sulfur in-gassed during eruption contributes approximately 9–24% to the total sulfur content of an orange bead, averaging around 16%. This in-gassed sulfur is derived from the eruption plume, where atmospheric sulfur could undergo photochemical reactions induced by UV light, leading to mass independent fractionation and a distinct sulfur isotope signature. Interestingly, a recent study discovered a small mass independent isotope fractionation of sulfur in lunar orange glass beads in drive tube 74002/1 and a lack of such mass independent isotope fractionation in black glass beads in the same lunar sample. This finding contrasts with sulfur in lunar basalts, which typically exhibit mass dependent fractionation. With our work, the observed mass independent fractionation signal in sulfur isotopes of orange beads can be attributed to the in-gassing of photolytic sulfur in the optically thin part of the eruption plume where UV light can penetrate. Using the sulfur isotope data of lunar orange beads, we estimate that the Δ33S value of atmospheric sulfur is approximately −0.18‰. Our study provides new insights into the complex dynamics of volatile elements in lunar volcanic processes, highlighting the role of in-gassing in shaping sulfur isotope signatures in volcanic glass beads.
