Exoskeletons have the potential to greatly change the way workers who need to lift heavy loads do their jobs. If one could create an exoskeleton that takes the load off of the user, workers who use exoskeletons would be able to do their jobs better, avoid injuries and potentially save more lives in the case of first responders. Over the course of the past four years, I have designed manufactured and tested two different exoskeleton prototypes in collaboration with the student-run exoskeleton design team at Michigan, M-STARX.
