Samples were collected by shipboard operations and data were processed via electronic sensors, shipboard laboratory analyses, and further laboratory analyses at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. Data were collected from Lakes Erie, Huron, Michigan, and Superior for the years 1985 to 1997. Data include EBT (Electronic Bathythermograph Temperatures) from 1985 to 1989, CTD casts from 1989 to 1997 with a Seabird 9/11 (conductivity, temperature, depth, dissolved oxygen, pH, in vivo fluorescence, transmissometer, and PAR irradiance), Niskin bottle casts for water chemistry, and submersible pump or Puget Sound vertical closing net collections for zooplankton. Funding was provided by the U.S. National Science Foundation Biological Oceanography Program in a series of grants to Professor J. T. Lehman.
