Non-existence of renormalizable self-interaction in N = 2 supersymmetry for scalar hypermultiplets
(Elsevier, 1984-07-23)
We prove that the assumption of invariance under "isospin rotations", i.e. automorphisms of N = 2 supersymmetric charges, implies that there is no local renormalizable interaction among scalar hypermultiplets.
Fractal chemical kinetics: Reacting random walkers
(Kluwer Academic Publishers-Plenum Publishers; Plenum Publishing Corporation ; Springer Science+Business Media, 1984-09)
Computer simulations on binary reactions of random walkers ( A + A → A ) on fractal spaces bear out a recent conjecture: ( ρ −1 − ρ 0 −1 ) ∞ t f , where ρ is the instantaneous walker density and ρ 0 the initial one, and f ...
Studying artificial life with cellular automata
(Elsevier, 1986)
Biochemistry studies the way in which life emerges from the interaction of inanimate molecules. In this paper we look into the possibility that life could emerge from the interaction of inanimate artificial molecules. ...
Measurement of upper limits for the decay widths of D*+ and D*0
(Elsevier, 1988-10-06)
Upper limits for the decay widths of the D*+ and D*0 mesons have been measured using data from e+e- annihilations at [radical sign]s=29 GeV obtained with the High Resolution Spectrometer at PEP. We find [Gamma]D*+ c2 at ...
Measurements of the dynamics and coupling of the equatorial thermosphere and the F-region ionosphere in Peru
(Elsevier, 1988)
Simultaneous Fabry-Perot Interferometer (FPI) and Incoherent Scatter Radar (ISR) observations from Arequipa and Jicamarca, Peru, respectively, were obtained on 24 and 25 September 1986, during which there was substantial ...
Ondelettes and phase cell cluster expansions, a vindication
(Springer-Verlag, 1987-09)
Y. Meyer has recently developed a particularly useful o.n. basis for L 2 ( R d ). Expansions using this basis, i.e. expansions into “ondelettes” or “wavelets,” have yielded important new results in soft and hard analysis. ...
Experimental test of the Siberian Snake concept
(The American Institute of Physics, 1989-05-05)
We are now beginning an accelerator physics experiment at the Indiana University Cyclotron Facility (IUCF) proton Cooler Ring, which will be the first experimental test of the Siberian Snake concept for dealing with ...
The elastic energy-momentum tensor in special relativity
(Elsevier, 1989-12)
We consider the standard nonrelativistic theory of a continuous, elastic medium with finite deformations, according to which the elastic energy is a function only of the state of strain, and the elastic stress tensor is ...
Radiative entropy production--lost heat into entropy
(Elsevier, 1987-10)
Heat flow [delta]Q of the First Law of Thermodynamics is expressed in terms of the entropy flow [delta](Q/T)[delta]Q [triple bond] [delta][T(Q/T)] = T[delta](Q/T)+(Q/T)dT where T[delta](Q/T) denotes the energy equivalent ...
